Challenge #154 - Anything Goes with ODBD

Welcome back, everyone!  We have a different format for this week's challenge.  Since we are being sponsored solely this week by Our Daily Bread Designs, we don't have a scripture/word art file.  As always, you can share any project with us - you aren't required to use ODBD stamps or products, but if you own any, we'd love to see you use them.  We had an overwhelming response to our Guest Design Call, and we have found our November Guest Designer.  However, I've saved all the names of those who were interested, and will attempt to fill the 2015 GDT schedule with those names.  Thanks for your willingness to share your talents with us.

We welcome you to share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to these guidelines (dark images, etc.).  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

We have a VERY special sponsor this week!

Challenge #153 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, everyone!  It's a brand new week, and time for another fun challenge here at Word Art Wednesday.  We have two more FABULOUS prizes for you this week, and we're already excited to see all the amazing cards and projects you'll make and share.  We're very grateful that you choose to link your creations with us, and we hope you know that every single entry we receive is a greatly appreciated blessing to us!

GUEST DESIGN TEAM OPENING - We need your help!  We're looking for a Guest Designer for the Month of November.  Yes, November!  This is short notice, and we would be able to give you the word art files right away so that you can start working on your projects.  It would involve creating four cards or projects (one for each Wednesday of the month), and each card or project MUST use the digital scripture/word art file provided.  If you are interested in being considered for the November Guest Designer position with us, please include the letters GDT after your name when you enter the challenge.  You are also welcome to email me with your request (See Contact Us Tab).

Let me ask you a question.  What is the first thing you do each morning?  Stretch, yawn, stand and greet the day?  This week's scripture, Psalm 5:3, tells us of another approach to the morning, and its one that I highly recommend.  It says "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord, in the morning I will direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up."  Many of us will say, "I don't always have time to pray in the morning".  It's true.  We really are busy in the morning.  But let me say this, in the same amount of time it takes to stand up and stretch, and get your bones aligned for the day, you could be praying.  I strongly encourage you to start your day, every day, this way.  When you wake up in the morning to stretch, just call out to God and say something very simple such as, "Dear Lord, hear my cry to you and meet my needs today."  We certainly ALL have time for that, don't we?  I promise you that by calling out to God and praying to Him every morning, you will quickly find that He will not only hear that prayer, but that He will answer it.  He will meet your needs each day, and His grace will always be sufficient.  As the day progresses, and things get hectic, pray again!  You can quickly call out to God ANY time, ANY where, and for ANY reason.  He cares, He hears, and He answers.  Prayer literally means "to ask of God", but He can't answer your prayers if you don't ASK Him.  Let this be the week that changes your life forever.  Start each morning with a prayer to God, seek Him throughout the day, talk with Him and make Him your friend; and then watch as He answers your prayers and blesses you.  What a blessing to be able to directly access the One true God; the ONLY One who can answer prayer.  Call on the Lord!

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. Challenge #152 - Anything Goes

Welcome, everyone!  We're so blessed to have you stop by this week to share your art with us.  We have really been loving the sweet projects you've been sharing with us, and we look forward to seeing what your creative hands will make for this challenge.  Just a friendly reminder to all, with Halloween approaching we realize that many of you are making your "spooky cards and projects" for other challenges.  Please keep in mind that while these projects are appropriate for some challenges, there are some restrictions for our challenges.  If you have any questions about what is acceptable, especially at this time of year, please refer to our challenge guidelines.  Thank you for being mindful and respectful of the rules.  We hate having to remove any entries due to content, but we do reserve this right.

This week's focus verse for our word art is from the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 40 and verse 8.  It says "the grass withereth, the flower fadeth;  but the word of our GOD shall stand FOREVER."  This is such a beautiful truth from God's Word.  I'm sure that some of you have driven by an old house where you used to live, or a school you attended, a store where you shopped as a youngster, a church, etc., and as you drive by, you are saddened that things have changed.  Perhaps the building is gone, or the trees have overgrown the area, or weeds are covering things.  The "things" of this world will ALL fade away over time.  The grass withers and the flowers fade, relationships change, people change (and can often disappoint us); but one thing that you NEVER EVER have to worry about changing is the precious, holy, perfect Word of God.  This verse refers to the Bible as the "word of our God" because the Bible literally is filled with God's exact words.  Many people think that it was written by men; and that's partially true, but GOD wrote every word that appears in the Bible.  God spoke through men, called prophets, and told the writers EXACTLY what to write, and they wrote down the words God told the.  It's like a secretary taking dictation for her boss, and then typing the letter.  The secretary has "written the letter", but she has written the words of her boss (the one who dictated it).  God's Word is just the same as that; they are words that God spoke through men, and those men wrote down EXAXTLY what they were told by God to write.  That is why we call the Bible "God-breathed."  It's not just "some of God's words or ideas" it's ALL of God's words and God's thoughts towards us.  He gave us this precious gift (His direct words) to help us to know how to live, how to answer men, how to equip our wicked hearts to be a light in this dark world.  Praise God that His words will NEVER change, never be compromised, and are just as true and meaningful today as they were the day He told these men what to write.  Hide His Word in your heart that you might not sin against God.  What a precious gift!

Challenge #151 - Anything Goes

Welcome back this week to our new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday!  We are so grateful that you're here with us today, and we hope that you will share ALL your creativity with us this week (up to 5 FIVE projects!!!).  We have two FABULOUS sponsors with us, and we're ready for a really great challenge.  We apologize to those of you who didn't "get any love" left on your blogs this past week.  Some of our Design Team Members have been experiencing a lot in their personal lives lately (we're only human).  We want you to know that despite our lack of commenting, we are VERY grateful to each of you for sharing your WONDERFUL art with us each week.  We hope to be back to ALL your lovely blogs in the coming week/weeks as we get back on track.  But nonetheless, we have a great challenge for you, so.....let the fun begin!

Hebrews 11:6 is a beautiful Bible verse.  It addresses the act of faith; one of the most difficult of all attributes to attain.  This verse tells us that "without faith, it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God (for salvation) Must believe that He is (the one true God), and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Jesus Christ)."   The key to understanding this verse is to acknowledging that to please God, one must believe not in simply "a god", but in the One true God; the Alpha and Omega, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, the risen Jesus Christ our eternal Savior.
